After a long time, it's finally here: We're excited to provide a comprehensive update for Message1. This release brings numerous improvements and new features.
A special highlight is the introduction of multilingual support. To make Message1 accessible to an even broader customer base, we have implemented the entire application with multilingual capabilities. Starting now, English is available alongside German – additional languages will follow progressively.
This expansion required comprehensive adjustments to the user interface and underlying data formats. Since different standards apply in other countries (e.g., YYYY/MM/DD as date format), internationalization was implemented carefully and consistently.
A lot has also happened under the hood: Numerous optimizations have been made to the codebase to improve performance, maintainability, and extensibility in the long term.
Improved address and contact data entry through Google Autocomplete If it is noted in the customer profile that the caller's address is required, an address input form is available. Thanks to the new Google Autocomplete integration, important fields – such as street, house number, city, postal code, company name and phone number – are automatically filled in when entering the address, provided this information is available in Google Places. You can also limit the search results to the corresponding country via the dropdown menu, with the country stored in your profile pre-selected by default.
More flexibility in displaying date values Users can select their preferred date format directly in the settings. Whether dd.mm.yyyy, yyyy-mm-dd, mm/dd/yyyy or other common variants – the application adapts optimally to regional customs and personal preferences. Internationally common formats such as yyyy/mm/dd or yyyy.mm.dd are also available for selection.
Separation between active and former employees Employee management has been improved through a clear tab structure that now displays active and former employees in separate areas. Former employees are shown with reduced opacity and gray text, while the search function now searches both tabs simultaneously. This change provides a clearer overview of the current workforce while enabling quick access to historical personnel data.
Optimized logo settings With the new version, you can adjust your logo directly in the profile properties. While the logo was previously stored exclusively as Base64 code, you now have the option to upload an image. The system automatically checks whether the image you uploaded contains transparent areas and informs you accordingly. You can also set the background color to perfectly match your corporate design and adjust the image width individually – this then determines the size of the logo in your emails.
Individual Sender Email Address With this change, we have enabled you to set an individual sender email address – automatic responses such as out-of-office messages will now be forwarded directly to you, ensuring you don't miss any important messages.
Early alerting function for email delivery implemented To secure our email delivery, we have set up automated monitoring for the status pages of Brevo and Mailjet. This system triggers an alarm early when disruptions are detected – such as delayed delivery, restricted delivery or outages – allowing us to respond to problems faster and switch delivery to alternative systems if necessary. This increases the stability and reliability of our transactional email communication.
New, user-friendly calendar integrated As part of the transition to freely selectable date formats, we have also modernized the calendar in Message1. The previous solution has been replaced by a more intuitive and clearer calendar that offers improved usability on all devices – especially for selecting date ranges. The transition was deliberately implemented together with the new date format function, as both components are closely linked.
Threema - Technical improvements The processing of incoming Threema messages has been improved: Unsupported message types no longer cause the processing process to abort. Instead, the type code is logged in the error log for analysis.
In this version, we have additionally performed numerous framework updates and backend updates. We place great emphasis on keeping all systems continuously up to date. These measures are a key reason for the stability and reliability of our applications.
Automatic analysis of known callers From now on, all past calls are automatically analyzed once daily and assigned to known callers. The entries created in this process are marked with a magic wand symbol, while manually added entries carry a user symbol. This enables faster and more precise identification of callers. Caller information can be copied directly into the caller form with a mouse click, which significantly reduces manual effort. If a phone interface is used, it can be configured so that callers are automatically recognized based on their display number and assigned accordingly.
Display error after deleting sorting After deleting the sorting, all customers were displayed in one column instead of being distributed across multiple columns. The error was caused by incorrect resetting of column parameters and has been fixed, so that the correct display is restored.
Improved compatibility for email notifications Modern mail clients like Outlook for iOS automatically recognize phone numbers and allow you to call them directly with a click. To also provide this practical function to older mail clients, we have now equipped all phone numbers and email addresses with corresponding link information. This means phone numbers can also be selected with a click in older apps and emails can be accessed directly, which significantly facilitates communication.
New filter in statistics under "Detail" At customer request, we have built a new filter in the statistics under "Detail". It is now possible to specifically select a company so that only the data of the selected company is displayed.
Minor corrections
- Typo in delivery tracking has been fixed
- Delivery tracking has been corrected so that no more disruptions occur
Column "Costs" removed In the delivery tracking, the "Costs" column has been removed to avoid misunderstandings. This information led to confusion since we do not bill individual emails, but only the entire message. If a message consists of multiple email recipients and an SMS number, it is still considered as one unit and billed accordingly.
Address in bulk email In the bulk email function, the entered address was not displayed if activated. When sending the bulk email, this is now correctly added.
Different colors In the delivery tracking, the display behavior of softbounce status messages from the delivery service providers Mailjet and Brevo has been adjusted, as they were previously displayed with different colors and caused confusion. From now on, softbounces are displayed uniformly in red, as these messages mean that the email has been processed but not yet delivered because it was rejected by the recipient server.
Update of delivery tracking The update of delivery tracking has been optimized and now takes place in the background.
Instead of updating the status every time the page is opened, the status is now updated in the background every 5 minutes. The previous update when loading the page led to browser blocking in rare cases. With this change, smooth page loading is now guaranteed at any time.
Fixed error "Redirect number" In one of the recent updates, we added the redirect number in the new, red-marked 'Options' tab, which contains all functional information. An error when creating new companies, where a field was placed twice, has been fixed.
Save status "Accordion" The modules "Current Info", "Internal Info", "Recent Calls" and "Known Callers" now save the status of whether the accordion was open or closed in the employee's view. This status is adopted when opening a client next time.
Redesign "Delivery tracking" We have redesigned the delivery tracking. Now you can also see which client and which employee of the client the email comes from. For SMS, there is also a text preview. Additionally, we have inserted a new link through which you can go directly to the sent message.
Alternative delivery service provider Sending emails is the foundation of every virtual receptionist service. For this reason, we have further improved Message1 in this area. Sometimes it can happen that a customer has difficulty receiving your emails. Now you can select the alternative email service: Mailjet for individual customers. By default, Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) is used.
Note for new version After installing a new version, all customers are notified of the completed update through an information box after login. This box also contains a direct link to our detailed changelog on the website, where the latest adjustments and improvements can be viewed. We have also fixed a display error of the version number.
Welcome Threema!! We have integrated the Threema delivery option in Message1 to provide you with even more secure and private communication with your customers. Threema is 100% Swiss Made and offers a fully GDPR-compliant alternative to US services thanks to its own server infrastructure in Switzerland. The new integration was specifically developed for companies with the highest requirements for data protection and security. Additionally, you can easily query Threema IDs via email or mobile number, and Message1 automatically checks the validity of each ID. All messages are end-to-end encrypted and the delivery status can be tracked in the delivery tracking.
Position of caller company In the "Recent Calls" module, we have adjusted the position of the caller company. From now on, this will be displayed instead of the call type. The call type will still be shown, but within the caller details.
Message window receives address field We have also added the option to activate an address field for each client. This function enables a specific address field to be displayed in the message window, which can be individually configured per client.
Required fields in the message module New features for the message window have been added. From now on, you can define individual required fields for each of your clients. For example, if a client always needs the email address of a caller, you can set this field as a required field specifically for this client.
Phone number link for forwarding Employee phone numbers are now displayed in the overview as phone symbol links. By clicking on the symbol, you can directly start a call or initiate a forwarding.
Copy employees from clients We have added a new function: From now on, existing employee profiles can be copied. This means identical information does not have to be entered again. This function is available both for employees of a company and for known callers of a company.
New interface to PhonerLite We have added another API integration: PhonerLite is a free VoIP internet telephony software with which you can make phone calls. With this new integration in Message1, incoming calls are automatically assigned to the corresponding client. In PhonerLite, you can configure whether this assignment occurs when ringing, when accepting the call, or when forwarding.
Whoever seeks shall find The global search on the main screen has also been redesigned. It is now also activated for current and internal information. This means that when using the search, relevant information is filtered and displayed on the main screen.
Employee search implemented A new employee search has been added. This function is particularly useful for clients with many employees, as it helps to quickly and efficiently find the desired employee. This saves valuable time during the phone call.
